AEW Dynamite Sees Ratings Boost Ahead of Revolution Pay-Per-View
With AEW’s highly anticipated Revolution pay-per-view set for March 9, the February 26 episode of “AEW Dynamite” delivered a night packed with action and significant developments. The event, broadcast live from the west coast of the United States, played a crucial role in setting the stage for upcoming rivalries and championship bouts in Los Angeles, California.
One of the biggest highlights of the night was the agreement between Ricochet and Swerve Strickland to a rematch, with the winner earning a shot at the AEW World Championship. Additionally, Jon Moxley faced a major setback as nearly all of his Death Riders were taken down by Cope, Jay White, and Willow Nightingale. Meanwhile, Konosuke Takeshita successfully defended his AEW International Championship against Orange Cassidy, securing a high-stakes clash with Kenny Omega at the Revolution event.
Viewership Growth for AEW Dynamite
Despite concerns that airing live on the west coast might negatively impact television ratings, “AEW Dynamite” showed an increase in viewership. According to reports from Wrestlenomics and The Programming Insider, the February 26 episode garnered an average audience of 598,000 viewers. This figure represents a 6% rise from the previous week’s 563,000 viewers and a 2% increase compared to the trailing four-week average of 588,000 viewers.
A deeper look at quarter-hour performance revealed that “Dynamite” started strong, pulling in 735,000 viewers in Q1. However, as the show progressed, numbers dipped to 635,000 by the conclusion of the first hour. The lowest point of the night occurred in Q7, where viewership declined to 497,000, but there was a slight recovery, with 502,000 viewers tuning in for the final moments of Takeshita’s match against Cassidy.
Key Demographic Ratings Performance
AEW also experienced a notable boost in the key 18-49 demographic, securing a 0.18 rating. This marks a 6% increase from the February 19 episode, which scored a 0.17, and also a 6% rise compared to the four-week trailing average of 0.17. This strong performance placed “Dynamite” fifth among all cable broadcasts for the night, trailing only behind ESPN’s NBA coverage and the three-hour block of FOX News programming.
Momentum Heading into Revolution
With the Revolution pay-per-view on the horizon, AEW is capitalizing on this positive momentum. The strong ratings indicate growing interest in ongoing storylines and matchups that will culminate in one of AEW’s most anticipated events of the year. Fans are eagerly awaiting the outcome of major rivalries, particularly Takeshita vs. Omega and the World Championship contender match between Ricochet and Strickland.
As AEW continues to deliver compelling content and build excitement, it remains to be seen whether this upward trend in ratings will carry through to the Revolution event. With strong matchups and high stakes, AEW is positioning itself for a successful pay-per-view that could further solidify its standing in the wrestling world.
