Fuego Del Sol Says Upcoming Match May Be Last In An AEW/ROH Ring
Fuego Del Sol Bids Farewell to AEW and ROH for the Time Being
Fuego Del Sol, a familiar face in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Ring of Honor (ROH), has been making consistent appearances in recent months. However, fans of the masked wrestler may not see him in an AEW or ROH ring again anytime soon. The high-flying competitor is set to face Blake Christian on the February 27 episode of “ROH on HonorClub,” which could mark his final match under the AEW/ROH banner.
Promoting the match on social media, Del Sol urged fans to tune in, hinting that this could be his last appearance in AEW or ROH for a while. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), he wrote, “Pay the HonorClub sub price and watch this because it’s quite possibly the last time you’ll ever see Fuego in an ROH/AEW ring, so I’m going to make it a good one!”
Fuego Del Sol’s Status with AEW and ROH
As of now, there has been no official statement regarding why this might be his final match with AEW and ROH. However, Del Sol has clarified that he has not been under contract with either promotion since July 2023. Despite this, he has continued making sporadic appearances, including participating in six weeks of ROH television, a match on “AEW Rampage” last summer, and a dark match in December. His upcoming match against Christian will be his second ROH appearance this month.
Addressing his contract situation, he stated, “I haven’t been under contract with them since July of 2023. However, I did six weeks’ worth of ROH TV and a Rampage match last summer. Did a dark match in December. And this will be my second ROH match this month.”
A Look Back at Fuego Del Sol’s AEW Journey
Fuego Del Sol first gained recognition in AEW through his appearances on “AEW Dark” and “AEW Dark: Elevation.” His perseverance and popularity among fans led to a major opportunity in 2021 when he faced Miro for the AEW TNT Championship on the debut episode of “AEW Rampage.” Despite falling short, his close friend Sammy Guevara announced that he had earned a full-time contract with AEW. Over the next two years, Del Sol became a fixture on AEW programming, known for his high-energy style and never-say-die attitude.
What’s Next for Fuego Del Sol?
While it remains unclear where Fuego Del Sol will go next, his departure from AEW and ROH suggests he may be exploring new opportunities in professional wrestling. With his in-ring skills and fan following, he could be a valuable addition to other promotions in the independent wrestling scene or beyond.
As he prepares for what could be his final match in ROH, fans will be watching closely to see what the future holds for Fuego Del Sol. Whether this is a temporary break or a new chapter in his career, one thing is certain—his passion and dedication to wrestling will continue to shine wherever he goes.
